Rabbits, Snakes and Horses

Being a recovering Hippy I’d always wanted to visit Daylesford in Victoria. Its a mecca for mineral hot springs and alternative therapies. Things lined up for me with Kat and Mikey’s wedding, I was in the area a week before covering the Australian National Skydive Championships in nearby Nagambie. My partner is also a camera person - in the sky. He films teams competing to make formations in freefall. We had camped out in his SUV for a week at the dry and dusty dropzone and arrived in Daylesford with me flushed with girlfriend pride -he had won two gold and silver medal and the title of being an Aussie Champion yet again. Mikey, being a personal trainer was interested in my boyfriend achievements, we chatted about them briefly before we celebrated the love at the Air Bnb they’d rented for their special day.

A group of their besties sung unaccompanied accapella as she walked down the isle

the soundtrack was sublime complement to the clicking of my shutter, one of my favourite sounds

#prouddadmoment

They definately “do”

It’s official

the bridesmaids were super fun and light hearted

A moment beforehand I’d fallen backwards up the step in front of all these groomsmen, I went down on my butt and landed legs in the air. I went down slowly enough to remember thinking to keep my legs together so I could fall gracefully and modestly. I wish somebody filmed it. I find it hilarious when people fall over.

Nana moments are some ofmy favourite ones to capture

It warmed my heart to see how attentive Kat’s Dad was, carrying her flowers for her

Their pet rabbits came along for the adventure too

They’re stamping on the bridge here, to scare the snakes away.

So magical to hang out with the horses that live on the property

She designed the dress herself and wanted a shot that captured the flow of the fabric.

The damn on the property provided a quite and beautiful place for other couples to enjoy a romantic moment together

More magical musical moments as Kat and her mother in law play together

This barefoot bride was so grounded, positive and fun. My favourite kind of bride.
